Web Tisch purchases General Metal Works and begins fabricating blower assemblies for the U.S. Public Health Service.

The Spark of Air Science
In 1954, Web Tisch purchased General Metal Works. Throughout the '50s and '60s, GMW fabricated blower motor assemblies for the U.S. Public Health Service — work that led directly to the world's first Total Suspended Particulate High Volume Air Sampler: the Model 2000.

A New Home for Innovation
1970 brought the formation of the U.S. EPA — and the purchase of the Avalon Theater for GMW production. The campus grew further when we acquired the neighboring butcher shop and added a high bay building in 1980.

In 1998, W. John Tisch and Jim Tisch founded Tisch Environmental, Inc. (TEI) — a deliberate act to ensure the heritage of precision air sampling remained local, independent, and family-led.

Shipping & Returns
We ship daily from Cleves via UPS, FedEx, and Freight. Standard units may be returned within 30 days with a valid RMA.

Are your samplers EPA compliant?
Yes. Tisch Environmental is a leading manufacturer of EPA Federal Reference Method (FRM) and Federal Equivalent Method (FEM) instrumentation. Check individual product datasheets for specific designation numbers.
How often should I calibrate my equipment?
Calibration intervals vary by EPA method and site conditions, but we recommend a full calibration check quarterly or after any major component replacement. We offer NIST-traceable calibration orifices for field use.
Where can I find manuals or parts lists?
All technical manuals, exploded views, and parts lists can be accessed via our Reference & Manuals section or by contacting our support team directly.
Orders & Account Management
Do I need an account to order?
No account is required; you may check out as a guest. However, creating an account allows faster checkouts and keeps your order history on file. An account is required to apply for tax-exempt status or net terms.
How do I apply for tax-exempt status?
Tax-exempt status must be verified prior to order placement. Please create an account and email your valid state exemption certificate to our sales team before checking out.

What is your return policy?
A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is required for all returns. Standard items in new condition may be returned within 30 days, subject to a restocking fee. Custom-built units are non-returnable.

Standard consumables (filters, motors) often ship within 24–48 hours. Full sampling stations typically carry a 2–4 week lead time depending on current production volume.
